HOW WE HELP CHILDREN

The Throwing Starfish Foundation strives to take on projects that positively affect all kids, but our focus is on foster kids and at-risk youth. To that end we are constantly looking for ways to better the lives of overlooked children in our community.

Projects include: Assembling duffle bags of comfort items for children entering foster care, suitcases full of apartment necessities for kids aging out of foster care, food/supply donations to women and children’s shelters, as well as scholarships and job training opportunities for at-risk youth.

HOW WE HELP THE VULNERABLE

We are constantly looking for ways to help the less fortunate in our community. We want to make a tangible difference for those we assist and are always seeking out projects that allow us to do this.

Projects include: Extensive involvement in assisting survivors of the Butte County Camp Fire, assembling Cold Weather Kits for homeless community, and providing meals for the less fortunate.

HOW WE HELP ANIMALS

Our work with animals focuses on the health and safety of animals in our community.

Projects include: Offsetting medical costs for low income pet owners, food and supply donations to local animal shelters, and covering adoption/foster/care fees for rescue animals of all sizes.

YOUR IDEAS

Our mission statement is broad by design. We are always looking for new projects or organizations that benefit children or animals. Have an idea for a project? Know of an organization that is doing good work and needs a little help?  Tell us about it below.

We are especially interested in projects that have the potential to engage other members of the community. Tell us your ideas!
